Improper Ventilation Can cause Mold Growth

Most homeowners are familiar with the exhaust fan located in most bathrooms, but do not realize their main function has nothing to do with odors.  The main function of bathroom exhaust fans are to move excess warm moisture up and out of your bathroom to prevent moisture damage and mold growth.  A good example is the before photo of a local school locker room.  The exhaust fan was not being utilized by showering students and the after photo is after SERVPRO of Alachua County West's technicians remediated the problem.  Our technicians also made sure to educate staff and students in how to prevent future moisture/mold problems by properly using the exhaust fans.
