Fire & Water - Cleanup & Restoration

One of the many reasons soot from fire travels throughout your home, your A/C.

Anyone who has been through a fire knows the damage that soot can cause.  Besides that soot is drawn to cooler air, your A/C is another culprit to soot being spread throughout your home or office.  Once the soot is cleaned from contents, surfaces, and furniture that can be restored the lingering after effects can be lingering smoke odor.  One of the main culprits are your AC and duct system if they have not been cleaned.  Your ducts often times have already accumulated dust and debris while circulating air through your building.  Businesses have a lot more foot traffic and doors opening and closing, this can make the debris and dust quite thick.  A local customer had a small fire in their office caused by an electrical short, and after cleaning, the odor still lingered.  As seen in this before photo, they had a lot of accumulated dust that the soot adhered to.  The after photo is of the ducts after cleaning.  Their HVAC was also serviced and cleaned, which took care of any lingering smoke odor.
