How bad is your soot damage?

How bad is your soot damage?

A fire in your home can be devastating in itself, but the soot affects almost every surface.  We have many customers who do not realize the number of rooms affected by the soot until we start wiping surfaces with our fire sponges.  This photo is an example of how it can coat your walls so uniformly it does not look that bad, until we start cleaning.

Water Damage can come from many unseen sources.

Water Damage can come from many unseen sources.

There are many water sources that can cause damage to your home that you cannot necessarily see.  Once the power of water is unleashed it has to find somewhere to go, which is evident in this photo of a slab leak.  The force of the water trying to find an escape brought sand and building materials up with it directly through the tile in the home pictured.  The best preparation in cases such as this is having the number to SERVPRO of Alachua County West handy in case of emergency!

Are you ready for winter storms in the Sunshine State?

Are you ready for winter storms in the Sunshine State?

Here in Florida we are used to moderate winter temps and plenty of sunshine, though we are no stranger to winter storms and sudden freezing weather at night and climbing temperatures the next day.  This is a recipe for frozen pipes which can burst with the sudden thaw from fast moving storm systems and rising temperatures.  This photo shows that sometimes these pipes are not easy to access and can cause lots of damage.

Don't let disaster slow your business.

Don't let disaster slow your business.

As a business owner, disaster can slow your business to a crawl.  Not only can it affect your ability to do your job well, it can affect foot traffic and customer peace of mind.  This water damage pictured, affected a Home Health Agency and put customer information at risk of damage.  Quick mitigation and trusted technicians averted crisis and kept the work flow going in a time sensitive occupation.

Fire can cause more than just soot and smoke damage.

Fire can cause more than just soot and smoke damage.

A fire in your home can be devastating.  Soot not only causes odor issues and wreaks havak on your electronics and anything that it touches, but a fire damage can cause lots of other disasters in your home.  The water used to put out the fire has to be properly mitigated to prevent mold and the structural damage can be devastating.  This photo looks like festive holiday snow, but in reality it is blown insulation covering everything due to a fire damage which exposed attic space.  One call to SERVPRO of Alachua County West and we can take care of ALL of your disasters.

Minimize storm damage by calling for help right away.

Minimize storm damage by calling for help right away.

Living in Florida, many of us have become accustomed to violent storms and their aftermath, but when your home is affected it can become overwhelming.  Call SERVPRO of Alachua County West at the first sign of disaster not only to help you through it with our knowledge and expertise, but also minimize damage to affected and unaffected parts of your home.  This photo shows containment set up in a room that has an open roof due to a tree falling, minimizing damage to other rooms in the home.

Whether it be your home or business, remodeling can be exiting, and sometimes scary.  The process of making your home or office new again can sometimes reveal issues you did not realize you had, such as mold.  When beginning the process of remodeling, prepare for disaster by having SERVPRO of Alachua County West's number handy in the case of emergency, such as this photo of mold discovered during a business remodel.

Water Damage can happen where you least expect it.

Water Damage can happen where you least expect it.

Water damage can sometimes happen in places you normally wouldn't expect, such as evident in this photo of a supply closet.  Not only is it an area you wouldn't expect, but also in an area that may not be visible right away.  It is important to check any possible sources of water damage before they occur.

Lasting affects of fire on your business

Lasting affects of fire on your business

Fire can affect your business in many ways.  This photo shows the fogging of a business after a neighboring business had a fire and they were affected by soot and fire odor.  Sometimes fire can leave you with lingering affects that you can't always see.  Odor is just another issue SERVPRO of Alachua County West can handle for our customers.

Saturday, October 28th is National First Responders Appreciation Day!

As a company, we are often the first ones there after a disaster has happened.  We pride ourselves on offering a service which helps people rebuild their lives in times of great need.  More importantly though, we would like to take the time to bring attention to those who are there when the disaster is happening, the ones who are in the middle of storms, fires, accidents, and much more, risking their own lives to save others.  Without them, we would not have lives to help rebuild.  Thank you, First Responders for your service!
